itunes u

today i just became aware of itunes u, a (new?) itunes feature through which universities can post lectures, discussions, concerts, etc. online to be downloaded. this is really exciting for me living in romania as there are courses available from yale university, uc berkeley, vanderbilt university and even fuller theological seminary, among others. i am currently downloading video performances of both the blair string quartet and blakemore trio (hailing from the blair school of music at vanderbilt), as well as a concert by violinist jonathan chu, a fellow vandy alum who graduated two years ahead of me.

so now all of those elective courses that seemed so interesting in college but that i never had time to take are at my fingertips, ready to be downloaded onto my ipod (from what i've seen so far, uc berkeley seems to have the most expansive selection). to see itunes u for yourself, go to the itunes store in itunes and click on the "itunes u" link. why not take a course in existentialism in literature and film from the philosophy department at uc berkeley or hear a lecture on race relations from the university of pennsylvania? happy exploring!
